for teens
This fall is full of fun for teens!
Coeds age 12-17 are invited to compete in the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department’s First Fauquier Teen Bowling Tournament, to be held 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, at Warrenton Lanes. Awards will go to the top three winners in two categories.
The cost for this event is just $2 per person due to a sponsorship by the Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees. Participants must call (703) 347-6896 to register by Nov. 2.
Choral group
seeks singers
The Culpeper-Piedmont Choral Society announces rehearsals have begun for its annual Christmas Concert and there are still a few openings.
Membership is open to all singers who have had experience in reading at least four-part choral music. Basses are especially needed.
For the Dec. 2 and Dec. 7 concerts, Music Director Lois Shanks has selected John Rutter’s “Gloria” as the major work. Other beloved sacred and secular music will be sung including “African Noel” and a special arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite.”
Rehearsals are held at 7:30 p.m. each Monday in the Fellowship Hall of the Precious Blood Catholic Church, 401 N. Main St., Culpeper. New applicants are asked to arrive by 7:15 p.m. in order to register.
