For this reason, the group became a provisional affiliate of LVA in February of this year. Under the guidance of LVA, a national literacy organization, it now will formalize its status by enlisting a membership that will reflect the varied interests of the county, electing a board of directors to manage its affairs, and expanding its programs so as to reach more of the people who need help.
A slate of nine persons will be proposed as the board of directors, and any member of the organization may, with the consent of the nominee,
nominate an additional candidate or candidates from the floor for election to the board.
