Miss Lois Yates, a student
at Rappahannock County High School, has received a letter of commendation honoring tier for her high performance on the 1970 National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. She is the daaghter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Yates of Sperry ville. The announcement was made yesterday by the school prinipal Dennis B. Wingfield.
A Ham and Fried Chicken Dinner will be served by the ladies of the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Dept. Saturday, October 3 at the Fire Hall starting at 5 p.m. Benefit of the Fire Company.

School will sponsor a student Book Fair from October 9-16. Students will have an opportunity to browse and to purchase the books which will be on display in the Library from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. All students, parents and visitors are invited to attend the Book Fair during the week.
