Literacy group reorganizes
The local literacy volunteers are in the process of reorganizing under the aegis of the Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA). LVA Rappahannock will hold its first meeting at the courthouse on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. The group will enroll new members, elect a board of directors and hear a report of activities. School Superintendent Dr. David Gangel will speak about high school dropouts and how they can be helped. The public is invited.
Settle reunion
The annual Settle family reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 30 at 12:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Park. Everyone is requested to bring a covered dish. Relatives and friends of the Settle family are cordially invited to attend.
