To the editor:
I am a mother of school and preschool age children; hence, my special interest in education and family issues in general.
It is not difficult to see that the traditional family is under great attack by the liberals on Capital Hill and other government bodies across this country.
The family is the bedrock of our society, and the backbone of the U.S. economy. The family functions as both the first “Department of Health and Human Services” and the first “Department of Education. ’ Its rcje in a free, democratic republic is not only to care for its members, but to transfer to future generations the principles which made America a great nation, and to successfully prepare them to master the challenges which the 21st century will impose. It is imperative that the well-being of the family be maintained even in the complexity of the modem era.
