For the past two weeks in my weekly nutrition column I’ve been featuring apples since they are so popular for fall menus.

Apples are such a versatile food — they can be eaten raw, in salads, baked, in desserts, or processed into apple juice or cider. In addition, many people like to make homemade applesauce or purchase commercial applesauce for their families.
