“Now is the time to think about it,” Mike Cason, manager of Quarles Oil Company in Culpeper said. Most fuel companies notify regular customers in early spring for scheduling fuel delivery and furnace repairs or maintanences.
“It’s good to clean your furnace every year,” he said as a warning to homeowners, adding the service is similar to the semi-annual tune-up most people give their automobile. “We clean it and make sure the belts are in good shape. We put on a new oil filter, make sure their are no cracks in the heating chamber and give it an all over tune-up,” Mr. Cason said, explaining once the furnace is clean, its efficiency is maximized.
