In other business last Wednesday, the council:
• Passed a joint resolution with the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors concerning the town-county boundary. The motion provides for the. County and town to hold joint public hearings to consider parcels that the Town Council and Board of Supervisors consider moving into or out of the town.
• Heard a report from Mr. Reynolds that “in all likelihood” VDOT will soon erect 25 mph speed limit signs on Blue Ridge Avenue in both directions.
• Heard a report from vice mayor Brad Fisher concerning the Capital Improvements Committee’s list of priority projects.
Mr. Fisher said, in descending order of importance, the committee recommends the town build a water treatment plant, improve parking facilities, renovate the new town hall, bury electric and phone lines and construct a maintenance shed.
Mr. Fisher said he is “going to come up with a proposal for the CIP budget and submit it to the Planning Commission to make sure it fits in well with planning documents. ”
• Scheduled a joint town-county public hearing on solid waste management for 7 p.m. May 6 in the county courthouse.
