Opening day
The Rappahannock Athletic Associations 1991 baseball season opening day ceremony at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 at Stuart Field in Amissville. Mrs. Maybelle Stuart will throw out the first ball, guest speakers will be featured, thank you to sponsors will be held and the concession will be open for business.
Fire chief contestants needed
The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department will hold its carnival July 24-27 and girls from Rappahannock, Warren and surrounding counties are eligible. Categories include Little Miss ages 4-9, Junior Miss 10-14 and Honorary Fire Chief 15-21. A meeting has been schedule for 7 p.m. on May 2 at the fire hall and additional information will be available at that time or may be obtained by calling 635-4673 after 5:30 p.m.
Woman's Club to meet
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at the home of Mrs. Dawn Bare in Washington. Mrs. Pat Giles will present a program on “Skin Wellness.” All members are urged to attend. <
Historic tour planned
The Garden Club of Warren County will have their historic house and garden tour from 10 to 5 on Saturday, April 20 and 27. The tour will include four homes, RMA, tea at Riverside and evening entertainment. Block ticket price is $7.50. For more information call 635-3185.
Mothering group to meet
The monthly Mothers’ Gathering will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 18 at the Rappahannock Park. Bring a potluck lunch to share and drinks. Chairperson Kathy Kreyling has organized an educational resource panel to speak to parents on schooling opportunities. Beginning at 12:30 representatives from the Rappahannock Elementary School, Spring Mountain School, Wakefield and the Homeschooling Association will present and answer questions. Trinity Episcopal Church will host the Mothering Cooperative group in case of rain. Free to members and $2 donation, non-members. Call 937-3110 for information.
Group to meet at Woodsmoke
The Arts and Community Organizations Committee of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community (RAAC) invites representatives from local arts and community groups to attend its first bimonthly tea (coffee or beer) at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Woodsmoke Cafe in Sperryville.
