The Washington Town Council has directed town attorney Frank Reynolds to pursue making the “stub street” between the Post Office and the Eldreds’ home a state right-of-way.
Council members say the town has seen a recent upsurge in the number of loiterers at the comer, and if the stub street is made a rightof-way then the Sheriffs Office can enforce the state law that prohibits pedestrians from blocking roads, according to Mr. Reynolds.
At its monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 10, the council voted unanimously to have Mr. Reynolds take steps to make the stub street a public way. The council
