The 10 elements built at the center are all low elements - characterized by group participation and challenges that are more problemsolving rather than physical.
Low ropes course events provide the groundwork and solution orientation for “real life” problems associated with school, personal relationships, and occupations.
What are the goals of a ropes challenge course? The number one goal of CCLC’s ropes course is to build cooperation and teamwork skills, encourage trust, and increase self-esteem.
Who will beneift from the ropes challenge course at the center? The ropes challenge course is being incorporated into the curriculum of the After School Club. The club is made up of school-age children who get off of the bus at the center from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
The use of the course will become one of the fun and educational activities the children are offered during the school year.
In the summertime, the After School Club is a full-time program, with children enrolled full or halfdays for 2-5 days per week. Building trust, cooperation, teamwork, and increasing problem-solving skills with our school-age children as well as our older preschoolers are goals that we plan to achieve using the ropes course during the summer.
