Flexercise classes to begin

A five week series of flexercise classes will begin Monday, May 13. Classes will be Monday and Thursday at 5:45 at the elementary school gym. Class fee is $25. Call Rose Ann Sharp at 675-3887, evenings for more information. Beginners are welcome.

Artist at Trading Post

Mary Lou White, a Navajo Indian will be at The Trading Post from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12. She will have her handmade silver and turquoise jewelry and a select group of authentic Navajo rugs in traditional colors. She will also have a selection of pottery and sandpaintings made by friends and relatives on the Navajo reservation. The Trading Post is located on Rt. 211 West of Washington.

Carnival planned

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department will kick-off the first carnival of the season in the county May 29-June 1. Special events will be planned for each evening. Wednesday night will be family night and you can ride-all-night for $5. Rides for Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be at the special rate of $6 for each evening and riding until closing. The parade will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday and crowning of the queen will be held Friday night. Prizes will be given away Saturday evening.
