eagle story

This is a story that I have told a few people and would like to share with others.
It was one of those glorious days in February. The kind of day we all talk about and then shake our heads and say, “it won’t last.” The sky was the blue we see only in the colder months; a brilliant cloudless blue. As there were no leaves on the trees, visibility was endless. As I drove down Route 620,1 saw a speck in the sky coming toward me. What specifically caught my eye was that the speck had a white head. I stopped the car and watched as the bird flew closer. When it became apparent that it was not going to veer off, I got out of the car and walked over to the fence line to watch.
Those huge wings slowly beating up and down, the white head; quite simply the most incredible sight I have ever seen. No Disney movie or National Geographic special even took my breath away like the sight of this bird. In the background, I was aware of another bird and I assumed it was the mate. The sun glowing on their feathers turned them to bronze and the white heads were surrounded by a halo of light. The two slowly progressed up the field and soon entered a small wooded area. I turned the car around and drove up the road hoping to see them again and perhaps get an idea of where they were planning to nest. Unfortunately, I was unable to
