Mrs. Dorothy C. Davis of Columbia, Va. and St. Petersburg, Fla. and Mrs. Irene Parpinian of Bradenton, Fla. were weekend guests of Mrs. Virginia Lindstrom. They were here to attend the wedding of Lucille Price and Edison E. Newman of Bradenton, Fla. at the Trinity Episcopal Church in town and the reception at the School House Restaurant in Flint Hill on Saturday.

Birthday wishes go out to Jonathan Clatterbuck who will celebrate his special day on Saturday, May 11. He is the son of Steve and Janet Clatterbuck.

Junior Girl Scout Troop 547 and their leader Mrs. Sarah Brown completed their Horse Lovers Badge at the home of Mrs. Janice Turner on Thursday evening. Mrs. Turner explained the care and etc. of stable and horse maintenance. The girls were allowed to ride after knowing all the proper names of the saddle and bridle. The girls also groomed and fed the horses. The most valuable lesson learned was that having a horse or pony is a big responsibility.

On Saturday Junior Girl Scout Troop 547 along with their leader Mrs. Sarah Brown and girls Caroline Baumgardner, Amanda Brown, Jamie Lafollette and Sally Lawler toured the Capital Children’s Museum in Washington, D.C. along with Brownie Troop 909 and their leaders Mrs. Karen Alexander and Mrs. Wanda Early. Others accompanying the Junior Troop were Mrs. Margaret Baumgardner and children Spencer and Julia and Bobby Brown and daughter Bobbie Jo. All enjoyed the hands-on exhibit.

Junior Girl Scout Troop 547 will have a Mother’s Day bake sale and also corsages for sale from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, May 11 in front of the Washington Post Office. Donations of baked goods are needed if you would like to donate something please call Sarah Brown at 675-3624 or Ann Simmons at 675-3064.
