this spring but had not been able to file the plat for the lot because it was required to post bond for installing curbs and gutters along the road. No one wanted the curbs and gutters built. In fact, it is doubtful the highway department would have allowed them to be built. However, other applicants, including three members of Town Council, had posted bonds for such unwanted curbs and gutters.
Early in. the meeting the council opened a public hearing on an application by the Citizens League for relief from the requirement that curbs and gutters be built and the requirement that the plat be filed within 60 days—or at least relief from the bonding requirement.
