VDOT inspector Wayne Henry is assigned to insure that the work conforms to contract specifications and he will serve as safety officer, overseeing compliance with work-zone safety regulations.
The contractor will be working at various locations, said Larry Garber, Culpeper resident engineer. Motorists should exercise caution when they see the signs warning them of resurfacing operations. Slow down and be prepared to stop. Certified flaggers will provide traffic control at either end of the work zones, and pilot vehicles will lead travelers through the zones. Only short traffic delays should occur.
“Please, use caution when driving through construction work zones,” said Mr. Garber.
