What's Happening at RCES

Not only has this been an exciting science experience for the students but they have also used it as a calendar project, for math—adding and substracting and also reading. When the eggs hatch they will raffle them off among the classmates in the class, of course with a permission slip from home.
Cheryl Alexander and four of her students Emily Bare, Zack Corbin, Drew Dennis and Jeremy Slack presented a report on their Russian Project to the Rappahannock School Board last Thursday evening. These nine and 10-year-olds talked very well to the members explaining their letters and booklets the children have exchanged.
Mrs. Alexander’s class had a famous visitor this week, U.S. Rep. George Allen. He came to congratulate them on completing their Russian project. He heard about it and wanted to come and visit the children to express his admiration for a job well done.
