Baseball team places
two on all-star team
Senior Kevin Daymude made the Bull Run District's second team as a third baseman and junior secondbaseman Richie Lillard was voted to the third team in all-star balloting by the league coaches last week.
Daymude hit .293 and led the Panthers in RBIs. Lillard had Rappahannock’s best batting average, .302.
Panthers Coach Mike Tuppefr said the squad achieved every goal except one—to make the four-team district tournament. But the Panthers’ 6-10-1 record was a definite improvement on last year’s three wins, and many of the early-season losses were dose games.
With only three seniors graduating, the baseball team promises to be even more competitive next year.
