said he felt the time the council had spent on the ordinance had resulted in “a better ordinance.”
They then adopted a resolution releasing the bonds for those who had had to post bonds for curbs and gutters. This resolution passed 3 to 0. Brad Fisher, Ray Gooch and Mark Bailey voted for the resolution. Mr. Miller, Mayor Morehouse and Susan Parrish abstained because they have posted such bonds for subdivision in the past.
The council then reconvened the hearing on the application by the Citizens League. Mr. Luke withdrew the application and said the plat would be filed on Thursday.
The council also set the June meeting for a public hearing on the new budget. They decided to hold a joint public hearing with the Planning Commission on the revised Comprehensive Plan at the commission’s June meeting with the hearing continued until the council’s July meeting.

The budget also includes $5,000 to purchase new street lights. Potomac Edison wants to replace the town lights, which are old. Replacement parts are no longer available. The Town Council objects to Potomac Edison’s replacement fixtures. The company has agreed to install different fixtures if the town pays the difference in cost.
The budget includes $3,400 for fireworks for the Fourth of July celebration and $1,200 for town decorations.
The council will hold a public hearing on the budget at its June meeting. The tax increase will also be considered if the council can’t cut the budget enough to do without the extra half cent on meals and lodging.
