RAA activities

The R.A.A. Little League will be holding an auction at 2 p.m. on June 14 at Stuart Field in Amissville. Rain date is June 28. Items are needed for the auction. Anyone wishing to donate any items, please call Rich Pentecost at 937-5975 or Becky Putnam at 703-347-1128.

Another fundraiser will be the mothers’ and fathers’ softball games. The mothers’ game will be at 2 p.m. May 31 at Stuart Field and the fathers’ game will be at 2 p.m. June 7 at Stuart Field. If vou would like to play, please call Paula Harrup to register at 937-5432, Cheryl Digges at 937-6157 or Pattie Clatterbuck at 703-347-5658.

The year R.A.A. will be hosting the Babe Ruth District Five, 10 and under, tournament beginning on July 2. Teams will come from several surrounding counties to participate. Our fields are in need of bleachers, dug-outs, and homerun fences. If anyone is interested in donating any of these items, any part of these items or volunteer to help build them please call Danny Holloway at 937-4258, Billy Dodson at 937-4353 or Becky Putnam at 703-347-1128. All donations are tax deductible.

Silversmith at Trading Post

The Trading Post cordially invites you to welcome back for a special Memorial Day celebration Abraham Begay, Navajo Master Silversmith from 9 to 5 on May 23-25.

The Trading Post is located On U.S. 211 west of Washington. Native American food will also be for sale.

Settle family reunion

The annual Settle reunion will be held beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 31 at the Rappahannock Park in Washington. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and/or beverage. Relatives and friends of the Settle family are invited to attend.

Homeopathic workshop

A homeopathic workshop will be held Saturday, June 6 at Trinity Episcopal Church. From 9:30 a.m. to noon there will be a beginner’s introductory course and from 1 to 4 p.m. there will be an intermediate course. The cost is $40 for either class or $70 for the entire day. Fourth of July activities

The Fourth of July patriotic program for the afternoon of the 4th is being planned. If you have an appropriate presentation for this program, please contact Ellen Manson at 675-3091. At this time the program includes patriotic reading, patriotic and American songs/group sing along, colonial dancing, and a colonial sermon.
