Green tipped bananas are best for use in cooking, such as in a side dish or as a vegetable; full yellow bananas are excellent for eating out of hand or adding to cereal or salads; and brown specked bananas are best for baking in breads and cookies.
Fantastic punch base
4 c. sugar
7 c. water
Juice of 2 lemons or one 6 oz. can lemonade
Juice of 5 oranges or one 6 oz. can orange juice
5 bananas
146 oz. can pineapple juice
Boil sugar and water until thick; cool. Add juices and put some of punch and bananas into blender and blend. Mix all ingredients together and freeze in baggies or other containers. An hour or so before party remove from freezer and thaw to a mush. To this base you may add ginger ale, 7-up, champagne or white wine. (1-2 qts. according to taste).
