Farmers' market to open
The Rappahannock Fanners' Association plans to organize and open a new Rappahannock Farmers’ Market in the summer of '92. Anyone wishing to sell homegrown produce and/or homemade crafts, baked goods or specialties should identify their market interests and send name, address and telephone number to the Rappahannock Farmers’ Association Inc., P.0. Box 348, Sperryville, Va. 22740.
Mothering Co-op to meet
The Mothering Cooperative will hold its regular monthly meeting at the Rappahannock Park on Thursday, May 21. The potluck lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. The Cooperative is presently having a membership drive, so everyone attending is asked to bring a friend. At 1:30 p.m. members of the Cooperative will tour the Rappahannock Elementary School and anyone present who would like to join them is invited.
Bawkey family reunion
Family and friends of William Claude and Fannie Cobb Bawkey are invited to a family reunion at 12 noon on Sunday, May 24 at the Rappahannock Park. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
CPR class
The Mothering Cooperative will sponsor another children’s and infants CPR class from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at the Child Care and Learning Center. A $2 donation is requested. Child care will be available, but those requiring child care will need to pre-register by calling Cathy Kreyling at 987-8131.
Yard sale, car wash
A yard sale and car wash will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 at the Rappahannock High School. This event sponsored jointly by RCHS Yearbook Club and Rappahannock Elementary School PTO. Donations of items are needed. Contestants sought
The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will sponsor a carnival queen. Young ladies ages 12 through 18 should contact Connie Huff Harris at 675-3067 if interested. Prizes will be awarded for the young lady who sells the most tickets.
