Mary Janet Leaaard of Richmond and John Paul Kleinhans of Massapequa, N.Y. were married at 11:80 a.m. on Saturday, May 16 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Washington.
The double-ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Albert Verbeke.
The church was decorated with spring flowers and white bows marking the pews for family.
Wedding music was provided by Kathy Tester on organ, cantor Scott Tester and solo Ellen Miller.
The bride is the daughter of Janet Lessard Dunn of Richmond and the late William James Lessard Jr.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kleinhans of MassapequaPark, N.Y.
Given in marriage by her eldest brother, William James Lessard Jr., the bride wore a gown accented with seed pearls, irredescent pearls, white portrait collar and a cathedral train. She carried a cascade bouquet of gardenias, fressia, and stephanotis with varigated greenery.
Maid of honor was Stephanie Jenson of Washington. Bridesmaids were Maureen Cain of Maryland and Ruth Ann Rusher R. Seward of Chicago. The attendants wore above the knee gowns of teal accented wtih a white lace portrait collar and they wore white lace cuff gloves. They carried arm bouquets of spring floral arrangements.
Mistress of ceremony was Margot L. Stegmaier, the bride’s sister, of Chesterfield, Va.
Rick Lessard of Kilby Farm, Sperryville, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Mike Lessard of Falls Church and Richard Kleinhans of Neshanic Station, N.J.
For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Dunn wore a rose chiffon gown and was escorted by her husband, Clarence Dunn.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Bleu Rock Inn.
