national convention. Loudoun County Supervisor Steven Whitener was picked as the district’s electoral voter in the presidential election.
Mr. Rich said the convention presented no evidence of a rift between conservative and moderate groups within the party, though campaigning for party seats was sometimes negative and close.
“There is no conservative-moderate rift. I’m definitely a conservative person. There is a group (that) wants to control everything. If you don’t agree with them 100 percent, then they want you out of the party. That’s unrealistic. If they were in control, the party would be whittled down to about nothing,” Rep. Rich said.

The 10th District Democratic Committee Convention will be held starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23 at Fauquier High School in Warrenton.
Delegates from Rappahannock County are J. Kent Reeve, Douglas Baumgardner, William Dobrovir and Margaret White. Alternates are Dr. Werner Krebser and Raymond ' Johnson.
The Democrats’ main order of business is to elect a candidate to oppose six-term incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf.
Delegates will also vote on party planks and will elect delegates to the Democratic National Convention this summer in New York City. The 10th Congressional District’s one elector for the Electoral College will also be elected.
The keynote speaker will by U.S. Sen. Charles S. Robb, D-Va.
After the business portion of the convention there will also be a barbecue dinner in the school cafeteria.
