Republicans in the 10th Congressional District May 16 in Front Royal selected James Rich of Fauquier County to lead their district committee.

Mr. Rich was challenged by Frederick County political consul-tant Bill Wilson and topped Mr. Wilson 211.1 to 194.38 in the district convention. Mr. Rich called the 10th the most Republican district in the state and said the party’s top priority is now the re-election of President George Bush.

“Congressman (Frank) Wolf (R10th) will probably be running unopposed. Our top priorities are definitely the re-election of Bush and > (Vice President Dan) Quayle. We also want to play a huge role in electing a Republican governor. We’re ' tired of (Gov. L. Douglas) Wilder and his party’s control of this state,”
