I have gone astray. My intent was to discuss Rappahannock County as the center of the universe and how this has recently been confirmed by the “big bang” theory. There is not enough room now for that discussion.
I do want to mention that Richard Abel is about to celebrate a 70th birthday and so I have a poem for him.
Richard’s 70th Year (and Mine)
Environment
Nature’s course, when charged by man
Is not seduced by shame or sham,
Nor any other whim of greed.
The fates will go at random speed
And when the forces all agree
That they will then recycle me.
An observation about humans and their ways: Revelations continue to cloud the reputations of candidates, former candidates and elected officials. If this keeps up long enough it will develop into a requirement. A man will have to be accused of having an affair and then lie about it.
It is said that a man is an alcoholic when he stops bragging about how much he had to drink and starts lying about it. I don’t know what this means, but somewhere between 75 and 85 women stop lying about their age and start bragging about it. I have no idea how anyone can use the above information, or maybe I do and am lying.
Question: What do you call a boomerang that doesn’t return to the thrower?
Answer: A stick.
