Easy road

A fairly large but generally congenial crowd gathered for the public hearing on road names Monday night.
Many suggested changes they said were supported by most of the people along a road section. For example Mary Miller Wood suggested
iMmwwwWi' named Sunnyside Orchard Lane rather than Sunny Side Lane.
The supervisors already had a list of suggested changes compiled by County Administrator John McCarthy from citizens who had suggested the changes to him. Included on this list was the suggestion that Route 647 from Flint Hill be named Crest Hill Road instead of Marshall Road, and that Route 614 off Route 622 be named Little Devil’s Stair Road instead of Smedley Hollow Road.
One citizen had suggested that the private road off U.S. 211 leading to the county park be named Woebegone Lane instead of Frog Pond Lane.
