For those wanting a quicker way to get to work consider the Virginia Railway Express. There are two lines from Manassas and Fredericksburg that can take you into the city minus the hustle and bustle of bumper-to-bumper traffic.
The first train leaves from Broad Run Airport at 5:26 a.m., the second at 6:26 a.m., the third at 6:56 a.m. and the last at 7:26 a.m. They arrive in Union Station about an hour and 15 minutes later.
The first train in the evening leaves Union Station at 4:25 p.m., the second at 5:25 p.m., the third at 5:55 p.m. and the last at 6:20 p.m. They arrive about an hour and 15 minutes later at Broad Run Airport.
The express will not operate on Saturdays, Sundays or on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Tickets for the Railway Express can be purchased at vending machines at each station. A rider can pay with a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or MOST bank card. These machines don’t accept cash. Tickets won’t be sold
