Mr. McCarthy said the county could get about $170,000 per year for about a year and a half. Davis Industries would also take the tires that the county now pays to have hauled away. They would be shredded and returned to be landfilled. The tires would count towards the recycling goal if they are shredded, he said. Davis Industries would also take scrap steel which comes to the landfill and pay the county one cent per pound, he said. Currently the county has to pay to have scrap steel removed.
