The Theatre at Washington is on its way to establishing a Gilbert and Sullivan tradition in Rappahannock County. Following last summer’s production of “The Pirates of Penzance,” the same company, Interact Theatre, has been invited back to perform its 1992 Gilbert and Sullivan production, “H.M.S. Pinafore.”
Performances of “H.M.S. Pinafore” are scheduled at The Theatre at Washington at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, and will follow a two-week run in Washington, D.C.
The Gilbert and Sullivan production continues another tradition for Washington’s theater in that “H.M.S. Pinafore” was presented 12 years ago in October of 1980. The production, starring Waldren O’Connor, was presented as a benefit for the Rappahannock Library and enjoyed great success.
