Hospital care at Culpeper Memorial Hospital is an excellent value when compared with both Virginia hospitals and the nation according to the most recent data provided in the Virginia Health Services Cost Review Council Annual Report.
Culpeper Memorial Hospital is significantly lower in cost than the national average. The report shows that the average cost per admission at CMH is 46 percent less than the national average or $2,285 less.
Virginia hospitals as a group are good health care buys with an average cost per admission of $538 or * 10.8 percent less than the national average.
CMH is $147 or 21 percent less than the national average cost per patient day. Virginia hospitals ranked $57 or 7 percent less than the national average cost per patient day.
Cost per admission is the better comparative figure because length of stay is taken into consideration.
These national figures and state figures for 1990 are adjusted by the Cost Review Council to reflect the effect of hospital outpatient volume.
