The candidate for name change that is most likely to be controversial was Larry Sherertz’s suggestion that Route 622 from U.S. 211 at Rediviva to the top of the mountain be named Wolf Mountain Road instead of Gid Brown Hollow Road. Mr. Sheritz said Gid Brown Hollow Road is too long for an address.

Cliff Sutherland and Sean Kilpatrick suggested that Route 600 between Route 681 and Sperryville be named Jenkins Hollow Road instead of Jimmy Woodward Road. Mr. Kilpatrick also suggested Route 681 be named Boot Hollow Road instead of Pine Hill Road.

Several people suggested Route 618 from Woodville and Route 658 be named Red Oak Mountain Lane and that Route 618 from Route 658 to Route 626 be named Woodville Road. The original proposal was to call this section of Route 618 Bessie Bell Mountain Road and only the
