Passengers must have valid tickets befor boarding trains. The tickets are sold curbside by vendors at some stations, through affiliated retail outlets, by telephone or by mail.
Fares are distance based and are determined by the number of fare zones traveled by a passenger. There are also ticket vending machines located on station platforms.
These machines accept credit cards and bank teller cards only. A single-ride ticket is purchased at full fare, a ten-trip ticket receives a 15 percent discount and a monthly ticket receives a 30 percent discount.
Other station amenities include: canopied platform areas, some partially enclosed with full height wind screens as protection against inclement weather, modular station and platform design, informational signage, newspaper vending machines, benches, a public address system and public telephones.
