Virginians for Perot:
no more status quo
There is a fire in the belly of a group of individuals who call themselves Virginians for Perot and it appears that, with or without Perot, this blast of heat is not soon to be extinguished.
Interestingly, this is not a group of people who are necessarily young and idealistic, determined to rid the world of all evil. These are individuals who have been around for a while and can recall the agonies of the Depression, the beginning of a era that emerged with FDR’s New Deal and the painful spectacle of a country tom apart by the Viet Nam War.
Intelligent, well educated and disenfranchised, Virginians for Perot are not going to settle for the “status quo” this time around. Even without their candidate, who left them high and dry for reasons most of us will never fully understand, they are moving ahead, forging a grass roots effort that they see as a means to make a change.
