History camp
has many
supporters
To the Editor:
The Rappahannock Natural History Pay Camp recently completed its sixth successful year of providing quality environmental education for local youth. Many individuals and organizations have been vital to the success of the camp, and as such should be recognized.
The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) is the “parent” sponsor to the camp, having started this and other similar camps as part of their Environmental Education Program. The Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP) co-sponsors the camp, providing critical financial assistance and volunteer liason staff. The co-directors of the camp, Nancy Hale and Tutt Stapp-Harris, provide excellent instruction and leadership across a vast spectrum of experiences, from bear tracking to natural bee sting remedies, and their able assistant, Kyle Apple, will be sorely missed in future years. Chris Bird, Mary Jane CapeUo and Diana and Lee Bird permitted the use of their Horseshoe Hollow Farm as a most magical base, and Dan Lewis and Paul Reisler loaned us their canoes.
