To the Editor:
Please, will somebody in charge at the Rappahannock News threaten to pull the plug on Walter Day’s column “Day by Day.” Last week’s “Day Embarrassed to Say?” was just plain indecipherable. Moreover, it was an incoherent exercise in navel-examining gibberish.
Perhaps “Day by Day” was once a column; it is in danger of becoming drool in print. ' In last week's episode"Day opens up with a lead that jumps tracks from embarrassing personal moments to candidate Perot. The column then does an about face talking about a prior column’s misspelling of the word “Glasgow.”
Day then mentions an experience as a pallbearer which is not explained; and then over the dam we go with a dopey story about Walter wetting his pants. As if this were not embarrassment enough for all of us who would enjoy a literate, personal column, the piece concludes with an obscure reference to his “last editor” leaving the newspaper, something
