Evangelist at F.T. Church Evangelist Bert Rait from Aberdeen, Scotland will be preaching and singing in revival services Nov. 1-4 at the F.T. Baptist Church on Route 707 between Sperryville and Madison. Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Sunday thru Wednesday evenings. Evangelist Rait is a former entertainer and made outstanding contributions to sacred music composition. “You must hear this dynamic speaker and musician,” said a spokesperson.

Anniversary celebration You are invited to the 119th anniversary of the First Baptist Church in Washington. The following ministers will be preaching: Thursday, Oct. 29 Rev. Walter Billy Scott and Friday, Oct. 30 a candlelight memorial service with Rev. Gordon Henderson. All of these services begin at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, Nov. 1 an all day service is planned with Sunday school at 11 a.m. with holy communion. Pastor Wendell Grant will be in charge. Dinner will be served after morning worship. At 3 p.m. Rev. Forrest Freeman and Bethel Baptist from Amissville will be the guests. “We are looking forward to seeing you at any or all of these services,” said a church spokesperson.
