You can see, hear, talk with
the famous conservative columnist and commentator, James J. Kilpatrick, Monday evening at 8 p.m., Nov. 13, at the Rappahannock Library in Washington. Of course, his subject will be “The Election.” Jack Kilpatrick, for 20 years editorin-chief of the Richmond News Leader, now calls Rappahannock County his home base, from which he sends out his syndicated column to 260 great and small newspapers across the United States.
He is not only a favorite neighbor of many who live in the Sperryville-Woodville area of our county, he is a favorite commentator of all of Rappahannock and adjacent counties. Currently we see Kilpatrick on CBS’s “60 Minutes” program, CBS radio and TV show, “Spectrum,” on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” and WTOP’s 6 o’clock evening news.
Miss Lois Yates, a sophomore at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester L. Yates of Sperryville, has been accepted by the Gamma Alpha Chapter as a member of Phi Mu Fraternity.
Phi Mu, the second oldest fraternity for women, was founded as the Philomathean Society at Wesleyan College, Macon, Ga., on March 4, 1852. The ideals of its founders are fellowship, good scholarship, loyalty to college and fraternity, high standards of conduct and service to others.
