Economy
is the issue
To the Editor:
In your editorial of Oct. 22, you are absolutely correct in your assertion that “the three top issues facing the nation now are the economy, the economy and the economy.”
However, I respectfully question the practical wisdom of your implied endorsement of Ross Perot over Bill Clinton. In spite of his unconventional and controversial tactics, Mr. Perot has indeed rendered a signal service to the nation by focusing so much attention on our fiscal woes.
Significantly, John White, an able Eastman Kodak executive, who is the author of Ross Perot’s economic proposals, is supporting Gov. Clinton. Our next president, must end the destructive gridlock with the Congress, which for too long has blocked any meaningful solution to the nation’s needs.
