Launah Smith
Mrs. Launah Fulton Smith, 94, of Culpeper, died Friday, Oct. 23 at Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community.
Mrs. Smith was bom Jan. 17, 1898 in Clariton County, Foreston Community, S.C., the daughter of the late Benjamin Pendergrass and Emma Isabelle Pack Fulton.
She was a retired public health nurse having worked in Washington, Sperryville, Orange and Luray, she was a missionary in the mountains of Virginia and a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church. She was the last of 13 children. Her husband was the late James Fielding Smith.
Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Sunday, Oct. 25 at the Sperryville Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Von Fange and Rev. L. Starke Jones officiating.
