most suitable location for an addition.

Then when the school system tries to replace them with an addition, they have to be moved, presenting problems with relocating the children in those classrooms while the construction is going on and adding to the eventual cost of addition.

The second alternative with additions to both schools would cost about $1.16 million for an additional 13 classrooms at the elementary school. Mr. Baughan presented plans showing a 12-room addition in the rear of the south end of the school with another classroom added at the rear of the north end of the school and an office for physical education added outside the gymnasium.

With this addition the school would have four regular classrooms for each grade from kindergarten through seventh grade, with an additional fifth classroom for two of the grades.

There would be separate rooms for music and art. With this plan it should be possible to eliminate the three modular buildings now being used and to put only one class in the divided rooms. The capacity of the school would be increased from the current 525 to 800. There are about 640 students at the elementary school this year.

At the elementary school five rooms are currently being used for remedial instruction, and only three are shown on the proposal. There are five rooms now being used for special education for learning disabled and emotionally disturbed students.
