She wasn’t getting enough time in her custom built solar home, time to play with her beloved bloodhounds, cats and horses.
Besides a large selection of frame styles and matting supplies, she carries a large selection of art works, posters and prints, including limited edition prints.
Her customers include Warrenton banks and other businesses as well as private clients. She also works for professional artists, framing their work before it is displayed.
She is able to put artists in touch with potential customers. “I like to promote these artists,” she said.
Part of her work has been learning to preserve art. A member of the Professional Picture Framers Association, she attends workshops and conferences to keep up with improvements in the business.
“In the past 10 years, framing has changed a lot,” she said. “In the past 20 years it has changed tremendously.” She noted that wood contains lignum, an acid, which can damage both paper and canvas. There are pH neutral materials that can be
