William T. (Billy) and Barbara C. Wayland of Sperryville are proud to announce the birth of a daughter Tiffany Anne bom on Monday, Nov. 23 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton. Tiffany weighed eight pounds and three and one-half ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall Clark of Sperryville and the late Annie Irene Clark and Mrs. Kathryn A. Wayland, also of Sperryville and the late John Clark. . Mrs. Agnes Pullen of Culpeper is the great-grandmother.

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Fincham of Luray are proud to announce the birth of a son Alex Duane bom on Nov. 21 at Rockinham Memorial Hospital. Alex weighed nine pounds and three ounces and was 20 inches long.

Social Security
hikes benefits
Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries will receive a 3 percent increase in the benefit checks that they receive on Dec. 31.
For individual Social Security retirees, the average monthly benefit will increase from $634 to $653.
In a family where both spouses are beneficiaries, the monthly benefit will increase from $1,029 to $1,106. Average disability benefits jjo up from $608 to $627 per month. |
