Ki Theatre has received a $2,000 grant from the American Dialogue Grants program to fund their 1992 Crossroads Columbus Day Weekend celebration.
The 1992 Crossroads celebration that took place Oct. 10 and 11 in Washington featured two evenings of performances by Julie Portman, Ki Theatre’s Director, Sharon Wyrrick, dancer/theatre artist, and Kate Long, storyteller, writer and commentator for Public Radio.
The Crossroads weekend also inaugurated the first meeting of a core group of artists and farmers who will be developing joint projects throughout the year that will form the basis for a Crossroads 1993 celebration called “Soil and Soul: The Arts and The Land.” . Next years Crossroads scheduled for Oct. 9 and 10, will consist of farms tours with performances and workshops for the entire family. Some of the projects developed by local farmers and artists will be shared.
The program is expected to draw farmers and artists from the immediate and surrounding region.

RICHMOND - The State Corporation Commission (SCC) has scheduled a December hearing regarding a proposed increase in Potomac Edison Company’s fuel factor.
The fuel factor is the portion of the monthly electric bill that pays for the cost of fuel used to generate electricity.
The company filed its request to raise the fuel factor from 1.215 cents per kilowatt hour (c/kwh) to 1.412 c/kwh on Oct. 16.
The proposal calls for the increase to become effective on Dec. 4.
