In a recent publication of the Rappahannock News there was a Letter to the Editor from Charles Francis negatively critiquing Walter Day’s delightful column, “Day by Day.”
Mr. Francis must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed the day he wrote that letter or perhaps he hasn’t been in the county long enough to appreciate the Rappahannock News.
In my opinion, the day theRappahannock News starts to look and sound like all those other so-called literate newspapers that I subscribe to, then that is the day I will stop reading it.
Who cares if some of the columnists forget where the punctuation goes or misspells a word or two? I believe in letting things flow in a natural way, whether it be in writing or making “Whoopee.”
I moved here many years ago from Fairfax County to get away from stuffed shirts and pretentious lifestyles. Gee, I certainly dread the day when we can’t tell Rappahannock from Fairfax.
