He said he mentioned the change because the county allows special use permits for operating bed and breakfast businesses for up to five rooms. He asked the planners if they felt the zoning ordinance should be changed to limit bed and breakfast businesses to no more than three rental rooms.
He noted that when applicants have to make alterations that require a building permit they will have to meet the new requirements if they offer more than three rooms for overnight guests, but those applicants who don’t need to make alterations to an existing house would not be required to meet this code.
