Area scholars
receive honors
Among the students named to receive First and Second Honors for the first eight-week grading period at Wakefield Country Day School at Huntly are several Rappahannock County residents.
Earning First Honors, by grade, are: first grade: Nate Martin; fourth: James Favareau; sixth: Jacob Konick; seventh: Andrew Inglis; tenth: Welby Lynn.
Rappahannock students with Second Honors for the first eight weeks are, by grade: second grade: Alexander Purnell; third: Casey Longyear; fourth: Ruth Purnell; eighth: Nick Konick; tenth: Elizabeth Nugent.
Earlier this month the school name a new prefect council.
James Favareau, son of Dr. and Mrs. James E. Favareau of Flint Hill; Jacob Konick, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Konick of Washington; and Andrew and Tim Inglis, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Inglis of Washington, have been named to the Council.
Prefects are student leaders whose responsibilities include maintaining order in the classroom in the teacher’s absence. Teachers appoint one prefect for each grade,, and another is elected by the class.
