Meanwhile, Del. C. Richard Cranwell (R-14th District) has submitted a bill requiring that girls 16 or younger get their parent’s, guardian’s or counselor’s permission before having an abortion. But antiabortion activist called the House Majority Leader’s bill a ‘sham,1 designed to give political cover to prochoice legislators.
Abortion rights activists said the the informed consent bill would created barriers for poorer women who can’t afford to to take twos days off from work and would subject woman to harassment from pro-life advocates.
