years. G.E. has been making an equivilent bulb for at least two years.
Both Phillips and G.E. representatives said last Friday that their bulbs were selling well and in open stock. Both manufacturers offer the bulb in a medium base. Phillips also makes the bulb in a larger, mogul base. G.E. offers the bulb in a twopin base as well.
Grainger, a major distributor of electrical products in the mid-Atlantic area, carries the bulb in open stock, selling them in cases of 12 bulbs, a sales representative said Monday afternoon.
Mr. Fentress said Tuesday morning that he had been misunderstood. He said he was talking about a similar bulb with a difuse coating on the inside that is made by Venture of Solon, Ohio.
U.S. 229 bridge
to be rebuilt
Construction will begin in mid February on a new Route 229 bridge across the Hazel River just north of Rixeyville in Culpeper County.
Completion is expected in the spring of 1994.
