Every year, the American Heart Association conducts a nationwide campaign in February, American Heart Month, to help all Americans learn about reducing the risks of heart disease and stroke.

Stroke is America’s third leading cause of death. In fact, every dl seconds an American dies from stroke and other cardiovascular diseases, accounting for more than 940.0(H) deaths each year. That total is almost as many as cancer, accidents, pneumonia, AIDS and all otljer causes of death combined.
